A String of Energy Innovations to Bring the Clean Energy Vision Closer than Ever Before

Sungrow, the global leading PV inverter and energy storage system provider, has officially launched its latest portfolio of advanced solar, energy storage, and green hydrogen solutions at RE+ event 2024 in Anaheim. According to certain reports, the launch was headlined by Sungrow’s new SG4400UD-MV-US (4.4 MW) modular inverter, as well as its powerful 1500V string inverter SG350HX-US. More on the same would reveal how the stated 4.4 MW modular inverter combines best features of central and string inverters so to provide one MPPT per unit for maximum design flexibility. On top of that, it delivers effective cooling, thus enabling full power operation at temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius. Then, there is the promise of a modular design which ensures easy operation and maintenance, while simultaneously offering partial redundancy for augmented reliability. Not just that, the inverter in question also complies with the latest utility grid codes, including ERCOT NOGRR245 and IEEE2800. This particular aspect, like you can guess, pretty much guarantees optimal performance and compatibility.

As for the brand-new 200 kW string inverter SG200HX-US, it arrives on the scene as an ideal solution for community solar projects. In essence, the system supports up to 12 MPPTs with an advanced three-level design, delivering 20A per string. Such an output makes the technology ideal for 500Wp+ PV modules. Customers can also come expecting DC fuse and combiner box-free design, both envisioned to collectively offer significant cost savings.

Beyond that, Sungrow took this opportunity to launch its PowerTitan 2 system, which basically addresses quality and safety concerns that have, so far, remained associated with any typical energy storage system technology. You see, the stated PowerTitan 2 system bears a highly scalable design with plug-and-play architecture, something extensively supported by pre-certified fire safety compliance testing. Furthermore, it maintains consistent temperatures to enhance performance, safety, reliability, and profitability. The system’s all-in-one AC-DC block design, along with pre-assembled battery modules, also goes a long distance to conceive seamless integration and ease of installation. Joining the same is system’s potential when it comes to reducing auxiliary power consumption by 40%, extending system life, and minimizing degradation. All in all, Sungrow’s PowerTitan 2.0 can thrive in harsh environments, including high humidity, dusty deserts, and elevations up to 3,000 meters (9,843 feet), with proven advanced safety features for fire suppression and thermal management. Complimenting the same is Sungrow’s partnership with Spearmint Energy to facilitate more than 1 GWh of battery energy storage projects in Texas, with each project expected to rely on PowerTitan 2.0.

“North America continues to emerge as a crucial market for clean energy technologies, and Sungrow remains at the forefront, offering innovative, reliable, and future-ready systems that empower the transition to a sustainable energy future,” said Hank Wang, President of Sungrow Americas.

Rounding up highlights would be Sungrow’s new four-to-one alkaline (ALK) hydrogen production system, and the PEM containerized hydrogen production solution. This particular pair basically banks upon PWM hydrogen production power supply, water electrolysis equipment, and the intelligent hydrogen management system to conceive efficient, intelligent, and safe renewable energy-based hydrogen production capabilities.

Making the whole development even more important is, of course, Sungrow’s existing stature. To contextualize that, as of June 2024, the company has installed 605 GW of power electronic converters worldwide. Apart from that, Sungrow is also recognized as the world’s No. 1 on PV inverter shipments (S&P Global Commodity Insights). The company’s excellence in what it does can also be understood once you consider it currently runs a network of more than 490 service outlets across 170 countries.

“We are thrilled to introduce these comprehensive solar, storage, and green hydrogen solutions across diverse applications. As we look to the vibrant North American markets, we’re excited to embrace new opportunities and challenges and build the bridge to a sustainable future together with our partners,” said Hank Wang.
