Norwegian energy services firm expands its reach by taking over warranty and service rights for Freedom Power’s solar portfolio
Oslo, Norway, 5 February 2026 – Norway-based home energy services company Otovo ASA has taken a major step into the US commercial solar market through a new agreement with Freedom Power.
Under the deal, Otovo will acquire the rights to service the limited warranties of Freedom Power’s commercial solar portfolio. This portfolio includes more than 400 solar systems with a combined capacity of around 70 megawatts. The agreement also allows Otovo to provide repair and maintenance services for Freedom Power’s commercial projects, as well as residential customers in Colorado.
With this move, Otovo officially enters the commercial solar and energy storage segment. Until now, the company has mainly focused on residential energy services across Europe and the United States. Freedom Power, meanwhile, provides power solutions to homeowners in Texas and Florida and supports commercial clients across the US.
Otovo said the deal is subject to standard closing conditions, including the successful completion of due diligence.
Commenting on the expansion, Otovo CEO William Berger said the company has been actively growing through acquisitions over the past few months. He explained that this latest transaction supports Otovo’s long-term goal of becoming a leading global provider of home and commercial energy services.
Berger also highlighted Otovo’s AI-native Endurance platform, which can quickly identify technical issues and send the right service teams in real time. According to the company, this technology is especially useful for commercial customers, where fast repairs and minimal downtime are critical for daily operations.
The latest deal follows another important US expansion earlier this year. In January, Otovo agreed to acquire Solar Service Professionals Inc, also known as SSP, which strengthened its presence in California’s residential solar market.
With multiple acquisitions and technology-driven services, Otovo continues to build a broader footprint in the global solar and energy services industry, positioning itself for growth in both residential and commercial markets.
