Qixent, a Chicago-based insurtech, has officially announced the launch of Sunshine Guarantee, which happens to be the first ever third-party backed embedded protection program for solar panel owners.
According to certain reports, this particular program effectively combines parametric technology with an embedded delivery model so to reach upon a modern, scalable solution which addresses key challenges in the solar industry, and at the same time, provides tangible benefits for both retailers and owners.
More on that would reveal how Sunshine Guarantee can be expected to demonstrate how automatic payouts and real-time data integration can transform solar sales conversations and ease buyer hesitations, while simultaneously providing retailers with a stronger closing tool. Not just that, it also compensates solar panel owners if their systems receive less sunshine than forecasted, effectively removing uncertainty and delivering confidence.
Such a mechanism should essentially make it possible for retailers to achieve upto 30% higher conversion rates and give buyers certainty that their investment is protected.
“An innovative product directly aligned with solar retailers’ customer acquisition goals,” said Andrew Linhares, Senior Manager at SEIA. “This is the type of solution that can help accelerate deployment by addressing one of the core objections in solar sales—performance uncertainty.”
Another detail worth a mention relates to how the given program runs on Qixent’s AI-native exchange platform, which is purpose-built to accelerate the delivery of modern insurance products. Now, we referred to Sunshine Guarantee being supported by Exante’s parametric technology, but what we haven’t mentioned yet is that the stated technology is best-known for using trusted satellite data and predictive models to trigger payouts based on actual environmental conditions.
When leveraged together, though, these two solutions ensure that payouts are objective, data-driven, and automatic. They further remove the need for manual claims, reduce friction for both retailers and panel owners, and at the same, deliver a seamless, hassle-free experience.
“Sunshine Guarantee shows what’s possible when insurance is automated, data-driven, and built into the customer experience,” said Randel Bennett, CEO of Qixent. “By guaranteeing solar performance, we remove risk for solar panel owners. We also give retailers a powerful tool to close more deals, faster. It’s about changing how insurance supports clean energy adoption—making it invisible, reliable, and embedded directly into the buying journey.”
Markedly enough, for solar retailers, the program requires no hardware, no paperwork, and no extra operational burden whatsoever. The provided arrangement just from them to simply integrate Sunshine Guarantee into their sales process, and once they do so, the system will start running automatically in the background.
If we talk about solar panel owners, the program seamlessly provides peace of mind to facilitate returns even during seasons or years with below-average sunshine. The idea here is to unlock stronger value proposition for retailers and a more confident decision-making process for the buyer.
Moving forward, Qixent will actively recruit solar retailers and installers to join the Sunshine Guarantee beta program.
Founded in 2023, Qixent’s rise up the ranks stems from empowering carriers and partners to launch and distribute products with speed and scale. The company’s solutions are presently focused on removing barriers to innovation in insurance, as well as enabling industries such as clean energy, mobility, and climate tech to access coverage solutions that drive growth.
Qixent’s excellence in what it does can also be understood once you consider it has, thus far, partnered with wide range of big players, including NextGen Insurance, First Connect, Coterie, CNA, Polsky, Long Jump, Exante, Bold Penguin, and more.
“At Exante, we’re redefining how insurance supports the clean energy transition,” said Aidan Breen, Co-Founder of Exante. “The Sunshine Guarantee gives solar retailers and installers a powerful new tool to build customer confidence by turning objective environmental data into fast, automated payouts. It’s a simple way to remove uncertainty, unlock sales, and accelerate renewable energy adoption. This is what parametric insurance was made for.”
